On one of our first dates, we went to this French restaurant in the Adams Morgan part of DC. I distinctly remember Chris wearing this very handsome blue dress shirt, and as he was dapperly leaning back in his chair the image of Cary Grant flashed in my mind. The icon of the charismatic, debonair man I can’t think of a better inspiration for Chris’ attire than Cary Grant. Not that I think brides and grooms have to matchy-matchy, but with my modern, old Hollywood look and Chris’ homage to Cary Grant I think the two are a perfect combination.
The best way to describe our overall wedding tone is rustic, elegance, which has the option of being either semi-formal or formal. With the groom’s attire, therefore, Chris has the option of a suit or tuxedo. I found these two images of Cary Grant, one in a suit and one in a tux. Which one do you like best? Let’s take a vote? Suit? Tux?

For a Sunday early evening wedding, I think you have to go with suit (though a dark one). I also think suits look modern and classic at the same time in a way that tuxes don't.
Just my two cents.
Thanks for the card, by the way. I'll give you a call for a wedding update soon.
